Premieres of the much hyped sequel, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, were a grand affair as notable members from the media fraternity graced the event to watch and support the movie. After an extensive national and international promotional tour, the premiere was finally held in Lahore on 19th of August at Cinestar Cinemas, and in Karachi on 20th of August at Nueplex Cinemas, DHA.

According to the Commission, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has begged 115 seats in the National Assembly. Whereas, the formerly governing Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is trailing behind it with 63 seats, followed by 43 seats of PPP.

The independents managed to get 11 seats in NA, while MMA and MQM-P grabbed 11 and six seats respectively.

The PTI has won 123 seats in Punjab Assembly, 20 in Sindh, 67 in KP and 4 in Balochistan while the PML-N has bagged 127 seats in Punjab, 5 in KP and one seat in Balochistan.

The PPP is having a lead in Sindh Assembly with 71 seats as it has won 4 seats in KP and none in Balochistan.

The general elections 2018 in Pakistan ended peacefully on Wednesday with only a handful moments of disruption.

In hotly contested elections, the polling day witnessed sporadic foul plays including a major bombing incident outside a polling station in Quetta that claimed over two dozens of lives and scores of scuffles among the workers of rival political parties. However, the polling process remained smooth and peaceful in major parts of the country.

Total turnout in 2018 Elections:

According to ECP’s official, the total turnout in Pakistan in 2018 general elections stood at 51.85 percent. The turnout in provinces is as follows:

  • Punjab’s turnout: 55.05% turnout
  • Sindh’s turnout: 48.11%
  • Balochistan’s turnout 45.87%
  • KPK’s turnout 45.12%.

Two days after  millions of Pakistanis cast their ballots  in general elections 2018, the results announced by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) show the PTI is in a leading position to form government in Islamabad with 115 seats.

Sanju enters the Rs 100 crore club

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju entered the Rs 100 crore club in just three days at the ticket windows. After earning over Rs 73 crore in its first two days, Sanju showed significant growth on Sunday and raked in Rs 46.71 crore. The film currently stands with the grand total of Rs 120.06 crore. With this total, it has turned out be the biggest opening weekend grosser of the year beating Padmaavat and Race 3.

Sanju is directed by Rajkumar Hirani, who previously helmed films like PK, 3 Idiots and Munnabhai series. Apart from Ranbir, the film also features Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala, Jim Sarbh, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor and Dia Mirza in pivotal roles. It is written by Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi and produced under the banners of Rajkumar Hirani Films, Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films and Fox Star Studios.

While director Rajkumar Hirani has once again proved his mettle as a master story teller, Ranbir Kapoor is finally back and how! With Sanju, the actor has hit the bullseye and got the smashing hit that he was looking for, post Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
